Football Manager 2022 transfer budgets: Man Utd, Madrid, PSG & Europe's big clubs

The new edition of Football Manager has now been out for months, with users once again given the opportunity to take control of their favourite clubs to lead them to glory.

One of the main aspects of the game, and probably the most fun, is spending money to build your very own dream team.

In terms of transfer budgets, the Premier League once again dominates, so don't expect to be given the millions upon millions you would usually receive if going to a team like Barcelona.

Football Manager 2022 Premier League transfer budgets

FM have indeed incorporated Newcastle's takeover into the start of the game as the Magpies have a cool £200m to spend.

While in real life that amount won't become available until the January transfer window, users of the game will be able to spend big in the summer.

How will you splash that cash?

Manchester City may have spent a British record £100m to sign Jack Grealish, but there is room for another superstar signing as they have another £100m in the budget.

Harry Kane, maybe?

As for wage budgets, Man Utd's comes in at the highest, with the club spending £4.67m per week on player salaries.

Barcelona's financial problems have been well-publicised, and that has been highlighted by the fact that, just like in real life, the club will not have a penny to spend in the summer of 2021.

While Barca have always been a relatively easy club to go to in the game because of the presence of Lionel Messi, their ravaged squad means that any user managing them as a first save will have a real job on their hands.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, have £51m to spend, although that seems a bit low considering they bid around £200m for Kylian Mbappe on the last day of the transfer window.

There isn't a lot of money in Serie A currently, as highlighted by the biggest transfer budget belonging to champions, Inter.

And, the only reason they have £17m or so to spend is due to selling two key players in the summer in Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi.

Even Juventus are living in times of austerity, having recently received a capital injection to clear over £400m worth of debts.

Any user going to a Serie A side will largely have to deal with the hand they are dealt initially.

Bayern Munich only spent big on one player in the summer in Dayot Upamecano so there is room for more recruits if needs be.

The Bavarian side naturally have the biggest budget in the league.

Dortmund, despite earning £73m from the Jadon Sancho deal, are only giving the user £8.5m.

Apart from the signing of Hakimi, PSG brought in most of their summer signings as free agents.

That is why they have a decent transfer budget remaining but also why they have the biggest wage bill in the game, coming in at a whopping £6.1m per week.
