Cristiano Ronaldo offered unlikely Man Utd exit route

Corinthians have confirmed that they want to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United, with president of the Brazilian club Duilio Monteiro Alves having stated he wants to do a deal.
Ronaldo has spent the summer pushing to leave Old Trafford following a 12-month period at the club in which he has grown frustrated by their lack of competitiveness.
The Portugal international failed to travel for the pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia, during which Man Utd impressed under new manager Erik ten Hag.

Worse followed when Ronaldo did finally return to the fold, with the five-time Ballon d’Or winner the victim of a public rebuke from Ten Hag after leaving a 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano early last weekend.
Meanwhile, agent Jorge Mendes has been looking for an exit route for the player around Europe. Thus far, he has been unsuccessful, but the door has been opened to an unlikely switch to Brazil.
“It's true, I dream big. This is Corinthians! Aren't Willian and Renato Augusto here? In football everything is possible and I have the obligation to give my best for Corinthians,” Alves told Ulissescast.
“Is it possible? I don't know. We didn't try, we didn't investigate, there was no such possibility, but we are keeping an eye on him. Imagine that he suddenly wants to play in Brazil..."
Ronaldo to Corinthians is a pipe dream
Realistically, this move is unlikely. With all due respect to Willian and Renato Augusto, but even at 37 years old, Ronaldo is on a different level to them, both in footballing terms and financial demands.
The prospect of leaving Europe shortly before the World Cup also seems an illogical one for the superstar.
Meanwhile, one of Ronaldo’s key reasons for leaving Man Utd is that he wants to challenge for the Champions League and extend his records in that competition – something he will be unable to do in South America.
