Arsenal could bizarrely suffer major consequences due to Real Madrid's addition of Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.

The France international has been linked with a move away from the Principality for over a year, and has chosen to join Los Blancos in a big-money move this summer.

It represents another huge transfer between the clubs, following James Rodriguez's move to Santiago Bernabeu in 2014.

Tchouameni will provide Carlo Ancelotti with yet another option in an already-stacked midfield that contains the likes of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and fellow Frenchman Eduardo Camavinga.

However, Real Madrid signing Tchouameni could have a direct impact on Arsenal's summer business. That is because Monaco need to replace their outgoing star and have settled on several targets, two of whom are also of interest to the Gunners.

Why Real Madrid have impacted Arsenal's transfer activity

Calciomercato have reported that Juventus are willing to sell Brazilian midfielder Arthur this summer, with his move from Barcelona not particularly working out. He started just 11 Serie A games during the 2021/22 season and doesn't appear to be in Massimiliano Allegri future plans.

The former Barcelona maestro is therefore looking for a new home, and Arsenal and Monaco have reportedly emerged as the leading candidates to sign him.

With Cesc Fabregas set to leave on a free and Tchouameni departing for the Spanish capital, Monaco are in need of central midfield talent, while Arsenal's desire for a new addition in that area of the pitch has been well-documented.

With Thomas Partey's fitness problems growing into a large concern, Mikel Arteta is keen to add reinforcements to his roster.

Yves Bissouma is wanted by both Arsenal and Monaco

Not only that, but Yves Bissouma is also a name both Monaco and Arsenal have been linked with. Fabrice Hawkins has reported the Ligue 1 club are interested in the Mali international as Tchouameni's replacement, while Arsenal have been linked with the Brighton and Hove Albion star several times, including this summer.

The player himself added fuel to the fire of those rumours by reposting two Instagram stories by Arsenal fans suggesting they would like to sign Bissouma this summer.

However, it seems as though Monaco will rival Arsenal's efforts for both Arthur and Bissouma, and would be able to offer a guaranteed starting berth and a spot in the Champions League if they're able to progress through the final rounds of the Play-Offs.

So, Real Madrid signing Tchouameni could stump Arsenal's summer plans and force them to look elsewhere for midfield talent.
