Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans has suggested that he would be happy to stay at the club for another season, despite being linked to some of England’s biggest clubs.

The Belgium international has a deal with the Foxes until 2023 but is widely expected to leave the club this summer, as Leicester look to cash in on their talented box-to-box star.

However, if Leicester do plan on selling Tielemans, it seems as though they haven’t told the player just yet. With the midfielder confirming in a recent interview that he hasn’t given much thought to leaving the Premier League side this year.

“I try not to think about it much and focus on my own performance, it works well,” he said in an interview with Belgian outlet Het Beland vsn Limburg.

“But it’s actually amazing how much they talk about my future. Every day they name a different club.”

He added: “I have the feeling that people think that after this season I will be out of contract, when I still have one year left.

“I feel good here, I like living here, my children go to school here. I am happy both outside and inside football. And Leicester have ambition.”

But if Leicester do intend to sell their star player this summer, where is he most likely to go?

Who could sign Tielemans next summer?

Tielemans has been heavily linked with moves to Barcelona, Arsenal, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in recent transfer windows and it’s clear to see why.

Both Arsenal and Manchester United are in need of a dynamic box-to-box midfielder to fill notable holes in their own teams, while Madrid are currently on the lookout for potential successors to Luke Modric and Toni Kroos.

Similarly, Bayern will be in need of a long-term successor to Corentin Tolisso, who is widely expected to depart the German club in the summer.

However, Tielemans is currently valued at €55 million and if a club were to try signing him in the summer there’s little doubt that Leicester would demand even more than that for their star player. Which likely rules out Barcelona and possibly Madrid too.

As such, it seems as Man Utd and perhaps Arsenal are the only interested parties that have the budget necessary to possible sign Tielemans in the near future.
