Bayer Leverkusen have no interest in signing Manchester United full-back Brandon Williams on loan or on a permanent deal in January.

The 20-year-old defender has been a bit-part player in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side over the last two seasons and rumours had begun to circulate over his future at Old Trafford.

However, despite stories linking the player with a move to the Bundesliga, FootballTransfers understands that the German side have no interest in the player.

Although Leverkusen do have a number of transfer targets that they’ve identified for the January and following summer transfer windows, Williams is not one of them.

Senior defender Lars Bender has filled in at right-back for much of the season, along with Aleksandar Dragovic or Mitchell Weiser in reserve.

Williams can, of course, play as a left-back too but that’s also a position that Leverkusen are well stocked in, with Daley Sinkgraven and Wendell both fighting over a starting spot each week.

Indeed, if anything Leverkusen seem to be thriving when it comes to the talent in their defensive positions this season.

So far in this season’s Bundesliga Peter Bosz’s side have conceded just 12 goals in 13 league matches.

Which is a record bested only by one team in the division – RB Leipzig – and also seven fewer goals than league leaders Bayern Munich.
