Milan will make their return to the Champions League this season for the first time in seven years when they travel to Anfield on Wednesday evening.
While the Italian giants would have been eager to return to the premier competition, fans of the Serie A side would have surely preferred an easier group to reacquaint themselves with the tournament.

Not only will Milan have to try and get the better of Liverpool, but they’ll also have to work their way around Spanish champions Atletico Madrid and Portuguese giants Porto too.
Milan coach Stefano Pioli excluded three senior squad players from his squad for the first stage of the competition.
Andrea Conti and Samu Castillejo, who refused summer transfers away from the club, were both left out.
So too was new signing Pietro Pellegri, who arrived from Monaco on loan with an option to buy that could become an obligation.
There are no other major omissions for Milan, who are the second most successful team in the history of the European Cup.
The Rossoneri have lifted the competition on seven occasions; in 1963, 1969, 1989, 1990, 1994, 2003 and 2007.
They open their 2021-22 Champions League season against Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday 15 September.
