Chelsea transfers: Every signing and sale for 2021-22

Chelsea enjoyed what was universally described as a positive transfer window in the summer as they spent big to re-sign Romelu Lukaku for a club-record fee, and managed to pay for it by selling fringe players.
The Blues were fresh from winning the Champions League trophy, and believed they had a squad, and a manager, capable of winning the Premier League this season.
Things haven't quite worked out that way, though, especially for the aforementioned club-record signing.
So which players have been signed and which players have been sold by Chelsea during the summer and winter transfer windows?

Romelu Lukaku: £97.5m - from Inter

Romelu Lukaku was, of course, the big-name summer signing. He cost the Blues a record transfer fee, with the club hoping he would be the telling touch when it came to their Premier League push. The move was achieved fairly swiftly after Chelsea turned their attentions away from Erling Haaland, and towards Belgium's all-time record goal-scorer. The forward scored over 30 goals in all competitions in both of his seasons at Inter but it hasn't worked out so well so far at Chelsea.
Marcus Bettinelli was signed as a replacement for Willy Cabellero to play third fiddle to Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The third signing came on deadline day, and it was Saul Niguez on loan from Atletico Madrid. The Spanish midfielder was pushed down the pecking order by Rodrigo de Paul's arrival in the capital, and decided to leave. Chelsea have an option to buy Saul next summer if they see fit. They are unlikely to do so.
In the January transfer market, Chelsea were almost entirely inactive - bar the signing of a few young fringe players.

With Lukaku arriving, there was no room for Tammy Abraham, who left English shores to join up with Jose Mourinho at Roma. Chelsea understand the talent that Abraham possesses, however, and included a buy-back clause in the deal, in case they decide that Abraham is wanted back in West London.
Along with Abraham, several other academy graduates were sold, or simply forced a move away in order to gain more experience and first-team action. Like Abraham, Valentino Livramento has a buy-back clause inserted in his Southampton contract, while Fikayo Tomori and Marc Guehi were both sold for decent prices considering they were signed for free, and not in the first-team picture.
Senior figures such as Davide Zappacosta and Olivier Giroud were seen as surplus to requirements, and both departed for under £10 million. Several young players left for free after running their contracts down.
Lewis Baker was the first player to be let go in January as he moved to Stoke City. He was followed by Tariq Uwakwe in the last days of the window.
