Sergio Ramos has suffered another injury setback which will keep him out of Paris Saint-Germain's Ligue 1 clash with Angers on Friday.

The Spaniard is yet to make his debut for the Parisian outfit but was expected to do so this weekend.

However, with the latest issue, he will now have to wait at least a few days more.

Ramos signed for PSG on a free transfer in this summer's transfer window, alongside five other new faces.

The 35-year-old was looking for a new challenge after 16 mightily successful seasons at Real Madrid, but his new adventure has got off to a difficult start.

It seems as though he has failed to fully recover from the muscle injuries he sustained towards the end of last season.

When will Ramos play?

Ramos did not train with his PSG teammates at Camp des Loges today, according to Le Parisien.

As a result, it seems unlikely that he will return to match fitness in time to face RB Leipzig in the Champions League group stage on Tuesday, if he were selected that is.

Instead, a more realistic return date could be October 24 for the trip to fifth-placed Marseille.

But, not even head coach Mauricio Pochettino has a clear idea of when he will be able to select the highly experienced centre-back.

“We don't know when he will be available,'' he said. ''Although there is no specific date, we are optimistic that soon he will be able to return to the routine.

''For the moment he is calm. He wants to play, but we don't want to force him either.''

Indeed, the concern will lie more on Ramos' behalf than the management team, as PSG sit six points clear at the top of the Ligue 1 table after just nine games.

Add to that, the partnership of Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe have conceded just nine times so far, meaning there is no guarantee of a place for Ramos when he does become available.

The 35-year-old may have to fight for his place in this star-studded team more so than he has ever had to before.
