Paul Pogba is set to leave Manchester United on a free transfer this summer. Could former club Juventus be set to entice him back?

A World Cup winner with France, Pogba has rather disappointed since returning to Man Utd from Juventus for a then-world record €105 million fee in August 2016, and he has contributed just a single goal this season with the Red Devils sixth in the league.

Pogba progressed through Man Utd's academy before leaving for Juve on a free in 2012, and he could be set to do the same again 10 years on, with his contract at Old Trafford up and the Old Lady offering a tempting package for the French midfielder.

Juve seeking shot to the arm

Juve have missed out on the Serie A title this term - the Scudetto bound for Milan with either AC or Inter - and they are set to make Pogba the second-highest player at the club after Matthijs de Ligt as they seek to reclaim their crown.

Juventus correspondent Romeo Agresti reports that the Turin club will offer Pogba a three-year contract worth €7.5 million per year plus bonuses, lifting him above Paulo Dybala and Adrien Rabiot in their pay structure.

The contract offer remains significantly down on the €17.8m Pogba currently brings home at Man Utd, but the bonus structure might redress that balance, and Pogba arguably played his best football in his previous spell in northern Italy.

With Andre Pirlo and Claudio Marchisio underpinning the midfield for much of his first stay at Juventus Stadium, Pogba was given license to get forward. He plundered 34 goals and 40 assists in 178 games, winning four Serie A titles along the way.

Juventus is not the only possible destination for Pogba, however. Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly keen to sign the midfielder on a free rather than forking out for Monaco's Aurelien Tchouameni, while German champions Bayern Munich have also joined the race for his signature.
