A video has emerged on social media of Arsenal fans confronting manager Mikel Arteta in his car following the disappointing London derby defeat to Chelsea on Sunday.

Arteta was again forced to field a depleted side as his squad has been ravaged by positive coronavirus tests over the last couple of weeks.

In the opening game of the season versus Brentford, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Alex Runarsson were all ruled out. It was a fixture the Gunners lost 2-0.

Against Chelsea, Aubameyang returned from the bench, but £50 million star signing Ben White was ruled out.

The Blues won 2-0 thanks to goals from debutant Romelu Lukaku and Reece James, though the scoreline could have been significantly bigger to highlight Chelsea's dominance and the number of chances creative.

Lukaku had a field day against Rob Holding and Pablo Mari, bullying the Arsenal pair for 90 minutes.

For his goal, a tapped finish from close range, he shrugged Mari off the ball like he wasn't there.

Arsenal actually started the game in a very positive fashion, popping the ball around nicely and Emile Smith Rowe testing Edouard Mendy with a decent half-volley into the ground.

As Lukaku grew into the game, so did Chelsea, though, as the Belgian was able to hold the ball up and introduce his team-mates into play.

The visitors flooded forward in numbers and it wasn't long before Arsenal become typically fractures in their shape and bereft of possession.

As the full whistle blew on 90 minutes, a chorus of boos shook the Emirates.

Arteta confronted

Following the game, Arsenal fans took the ill-advised action of surrounding Arteta's car outside the stadium, filming the Spaniard and demanding he resign.
