Bayern Munich central defender Niklas Sule has revealed that he is “open in every direction” about his future at the club.

The Germany international has played a vital role in Julian Nagelsmann start as the new head coach of the Bavarian club, with six starts from the club’s first seven league matches of the season.

However, Sule’s contract at Bayern is set to expire at the end of the season and has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea over the course of the last 12 months.

And while Sule has openly considered the prospect of signing a new contract extension with the German champions, he has also left plenty of space for a potential departure from the club next year.

’I still have to figure out what’s best for me’

"Of course I'm thinking about my future, but I can't say what it will bring,” said the Bayern defender in an interview with Suddeutsche Zeitung.

“My family and I are very happy in Munich, but I still have to figure out what's best for me. I never said I definitely have to leave, but I never said I definitely have to stay either"

"I know that I owe a lot to Bayern, but I also think Bayern can be very happy with the transfer they made with me back then. If both sides come to the conclusion that we still are a good fit, I would do everything I can to stay here."

"Otherwise I could imagine saying: I'm a free agent and I will try something new. Everything is open in every direction. I can imagine anything.”

"I know what I have at the club. But I also know that such decisions are always about trust. Trust from me to the club, but especially vice versa.”
