Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool transfer target Patson Daka has confirmed that he will be joining Leicester City next season.

The Red Bull Salzburg striker has attracted the interest of some of Europe’s biggest clubs over the last 12 months after a fantastic season with the Austrian side.

In a campaign that saw his side win their fourth, consecutive league title, Daka bagged a remarkable 34 goals and 12 assists in just 42 games across all competitions.

As such, the Zambia international has been linked with moves to Tottenham, Liverpool and RB Leipzig in Germany.

However, the striker has since confirmed that Leicester have won the battle for his signature and that he will be joining up with Brendan Rodgers’ side this summer.

"I will go to England and move to Leicester City," said Daka in an interview with Krone.

"I had a great time here, Salzburg has become my second home. I will always be happy to come back here, but the Premier League has always been my big dream."

Have Leicester signed Daka to replace Jamie Vardy?

After once again stumbling at the last hurdle to finish in the top four and qualify for next season’s Champions League, Leicester are understandably getting to work on improving their squad.

And in many ways a goal scorer like Daka is exactly what Rodgers’ side may need to finally make that next step in the Premier League.

While the club could rely on the talents of Kelechi Iheanacho, who bagged 19 goals in 39 games last season, there’s no doubt that Jamie Vardy’s clinical touch in front of goal is beginning to wane.

The 34-year-old striker still managed to pick up 17 goals in all competitions, but that was some way off his usual standard.

As such, Daka may be able to take on the responsibility of being Leicester main talisman next season and help the side challenge for major honours.
