Karim Benzema has defended Lionel Messi after the Barcelona icon’s underwhelming start to life at PSG.
Messi completed a shock Bosman Transfer to PSG last summer after he was unable for legal and financial reasons to sign a new contract with Barcelona.

The Argentine superstar broke virtually every record possible during the 21 years he spent at Barca, including scoring an incredible 672 goals in 778 games.
However, Messi has struggled badly so far to replicate these kind of figures at the Parc des Princes.
He has scored just one Ligue 1 goal this season, although he does have five strikes in five games in the Champions League.
Messi’s miseries continued into 2022 as he has still not played after testing positive for Coronavirus over the Christmas break.
But the 34-year-old has been defended by a former rival as Benzema is certain he will come good in Paris.
What did Benzema say about Messi?
“How is Messi not going to succeed?" Benzema told Telefoot.
"It’s just a time of adaptation, because he hasn’t scored many goals.
"But look what he does on the pitch. In any case, you can’t criticise a player like that, someone who criticises Messi doesn’t understand anything about football.”
Messi is set to finally play his first game of 2022 on Sunday as he is set to play for PSG against Reims.
