Son signs new four-year Tottenham contract

Tottenham have announced that attacker Heung-min Son has signed a new four-year deal with the club.
Son arrived at Spurs from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015 and quickly made himself a favourite of the fans with both his work rate and his quality.
In particular, he has struck up a fine relationship with captain Harry Kane, combining with the England star for a record number of goals over the course of the 2020/21 season.

In total, Son has 107 goals and 64 assists in 280 appearances for the side.
In a statement, Tottenham said: "We are delighted to announce that Heung-Min Son has signed a new four-year contract with the Club, which will run until 2025."
This means that the 29-year-old Son will be 33 by the time his deal is up.

Fabio Paratici, who is Tottenham's sporting director added: “We are pleased to have agreed a new long-term contract with Heung-Min Son as we move towards the start of a new season and a new chapter for the Club with Nuno Espirito Santo.
“Everyone can see the real positive impact he has on the Club, both on and off the field, and we are delighted that he will play a part in what we are trying to achieve in the coming years.”
Good news for Kane's future?
Given the strong relationship that Son has enjoyed on the field with wantaway striker Harry Kane, this is some much-needed good news on the transfer front for the London club.
It is a signal to Kane that they are able to retain their best players and underlines their ambition to get back to playing at the top of the game - a standard that the England captain has admitted that he craves.
However, the timing of this news coincides with ominous reports for Tottenham that suggest Kane could make a Premier League record £160 million move to Manchester City.
