Man Utd, Madrid and PSG in tussle for Lewy, Haaland and Kane

The futures of Robert Lewandowski, Erling Haaland and Harry Kane are all tied together in the summer 2022 transfer market, with Manchester United, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain squabbling over the trio, according to a report from Spain.

All three clubs are set to be on the lookout for a new striker, and the three players mentioned may be available.

Karim Benzema may be performing well at Real Madrid, but with just a year left on his contract, there is no guarantee they will retain the veteran forward. Meanwhile, Madrid want a striker to complement Kylian Mbappe, who is set to arrive on a free transfer from PSG.

Mbappe, meanwhile, has been fulfilling the centre-forward duties at Parc des Princes, and his void will need to be filled with a striker who brings more to the team than Mauro Icardi, the Frenchman’s current backup.

At Manchester United, meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo’s long-term future at the club has been placed in doubt by the arrival of Ralf Rangnick, who may prefer a player who presses more effectively in the long term.

Domino effect

AS reports that Lewandowski, Haaland and Kane could all find themselves at these massive clubs come the summer.

Lewandowski is reported to want out of Bayern Munich to seek a new challenge, one that may offer him a greater possibility of winning the Ballon d’Or. Bayern, however, have insisted their aim is to retain the Poland international, who still has their faith.

Elsewhere in Germany, Haaland’s situation at Borussia Dortmund is well known. He has a release clause that comes into force during the summer, which will allow him to depart for a fee in the region of €80 million – a bargain given his ability and long-term potential.

Finally, Kane actively sought to leave Tottenham in 2021 but was ultimately retained due to his lengthy contract. He could prove the most complicated of the trio to capture as his tie with Spurs does not expire until 2024.

None of these three players are guaranteed to move, but if one goes, it could set in chain events that lead to the others also departing.
