Chelsea crisis: Lampard with third worst win record of Abramovich era

Frank Lampard has the third worst win percentage of the Roman Abramovich era as Chelsea suffered yet another defeat on Sunday evening.
The Blues were thrashed 3-1 at home by Manchester City in a catastrophic performance at Stamford Bridge.
The result means that Chelsea have now won only one of their last seven matches, suffering four defeats during this time.
They find themselves down in eighth position, already seven points off the top of the table having played a game more than joint-leaders Liverpool and Manchester United.
Manager Frank Lampard now finds himself under intense pressure, having splashed out close to €250 million on new signings this summer. This includes €130m alone on Germany pair Kai Havertz and Timo Werner, who have struggled badly so far.
And Lampard’s overall record since taking over as Chelsea manager in the summer of 2019 does not compare well to his predecessors.
Indeed, since Roman Abramovich bought the club in 2004, Lampard has the third worst win ratio of all Chelsea’s managers.
Guus Hiddink has the best record from his first spell in 2009 with a 72.3% win ratio.

Second is Jose Mourinho from 2004 to 2007 with 67%, and third is Avram Grant in 2007-08 with 66.67%.
Fourth is Antonio Conte from 2016 to 2018 with 65.1%, while fifth is the manager who many Chelsea fans were delighted to see be replaced by Lampard – Maurizio Sarri with 61.9%.
Sixth is another Italian in Carlo Ancelotti (61.47%) and seventh is Mourinho’s second spell (58.8%).
In eighth is another unpopular appointment in Rafa Benitez (58.3%), followed by Champions League-winning manager Roberto Di Matteo (57.1%) in ninth and Luiz Felipe Scolari in tenth (55.6%). In 11th place is Claudio Ranieri with 53.8%.
Lampard finds himself in 12th, having won only 41 of his 80 Chelsea games (51.25%).
The only managers beneath him are Andre Vilas–Boas (47.5%) and Guus Hiddink’s second spell (37%).
The late Ray Wilkins and Steve Holland both oversaw one game each as caretaker managers, which they both won, but we have not counted these.
