How Bruno Fernandes' wages compare to his Man Utd team-mates

Bruno Fernandes is set to sign a new Manchester United deal that will double his wages at the club.
Having rapidly established himself as a key player since arriving at Man Utd from Sporting CP, the Portugal international has, however, been on rather modest wages by the standards of the Old Trafford side.
Indeed, Fernandes’ comparatively meagre pay packet has only been highlighted by the summer arrivals of Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo, all of whom are on truly big-money deals.

Fernandes, meanwhile, is not even among Man Utd’s big earners – and this is despite having been undoubtedly their key player over the last 18 months.
He has a basic pay packet of £100,000 per week, although it is reported that bonuses can carry this as high as £180,000.
The 27-year-old Fernandes is clearly playing to a better level than that, though. In just 85 Man Utd games, he has scored 44 goals and laid on another 26, giving him 70 goal contributions. This equates to him being involved in a goal once every 98 minutes he has been on the park for his new club.

Indeed, he has already struck up an impressive club relationship with Ronaldo, having worked with the legendary forward at international level. This was evident in the manner that he set up ‘CR7’ to open the scoring against Young Boys.
Fernandes is paid in the same wage bracket as Jesse Lingard, whose loose back pass cost the Red Devils a draw in Switzerland, and back up goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
It is reported by The Sun that he is ready to sign a new deal worth £250,000 per week, although that still puts him sixth on the club's list of top earners.
Clearly, Fernandes is a player operating at a level well above his place in Man Utd’s pay scale and any new deal will be amply deserved.
