Barcelona manager Xavi is planning a transfer revolution this summer, and wants to sign seven new players.

That is according to respected AS journalist Javi Miguel, who reports that Xavi is planning big changes at the end of the season.

Two of these players have already been secured in the form of Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen and AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie.

Both players are out of contract at the end of the season and have decided not to extend.

WHO ARE THE MOST VALUABLE PLAYERS IN THE WORLD?

It is widely accepted that deals have already been done for Christensen and Kessie to join Barcelona, and that their free transfers will be made official by the end of the month.

Xavi has also requested a world-class striker, and Robert Lewandowski is the priority to fill this role.

Lewandowski’s contract at Bayern expires in 2023 and he has requested to leave the club this summer.

Barcelona are in advanced negotiations with the player but still need to convince Bayern to sell.

In addition to Lewandowski, Xavi also wants a new right-winger to replace Ousmane Dembele, who is likely to leave on a free transfer having still not signed a new deal.

Leeds winger Raphinha remains the favourite to take this role, with Barcelona having been in talks for a number of months now.

Xavi wants a right and left back to further strengthen his defence and will return to Chelsea for them.

Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso, who are both available for sale, are the preferred options.

Finally, Xavi wants a backup centre-back to add depth to his backline as Samuel Umtiti, Clement Lenglet and Oscar Mingueza could all leave.

This report follows a story from Sport a few weeks ago which claimed that Barcelona had put 24 players up for sale.
