Official: Inter sign Correa for €30m

Inter have completed the signing of Joaquin Correa from Lazio on loan with an obligation to buy for €30 million.
Correa has penned a four-year contract believed to be worth around €3.5m per season.

The Argentine forward serves as one of the two replacements for Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku departed San Siro earlier this month for a club record fee of €115m to Chelsea.
Inter were forced to sell their star man as the club’s Chinese owners Suning are suffering from a financial crisis and have been forced to significantly cut costs this summer.
The Nerazzurri have since signed two attackers. The first of these was Edin Dzeko, who arrived from Roma for a nominal fee and scored on his debut in a 4-0 win against Genoa last Sunday.
Correa reunited with Inzaghi
And Correa has now arrived in order to reunite with his former Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi, who also swapped Rome for Inter this summer.
The 27-year-old spent three years with the Roman club, scoring 30 goals in 117 games and winning one Coppa Italia and a Supercoppa Italiana.
He has been preferred to Torino’s Andrea Belotti, who Inter had been negotiating with as an alternative should the Correa deal not go through.
Correa’s former teams River Plate and Estudiantes will receive five per cent of the transfer fee.
The forward has been capped eight times by the Argentina national team and has scored twice, against Singapore and Bolivia.
He was also part of the country’s 2021 Copa America-winning squad in Brazil.
