Bayern Munich are the football club that earned the most money from commercial revenue in the 2020/21 season, according to the Deloitte Football Money League 2022.

"Every year, DFML profiles the financial performance of the highest revenue generating clubs in world football. This year’s edition is a landmark publication for more reasons than one, as it marks 25 years of DFML and covers the first season (2020/21) to be impacted by COVID-19 from start to finish.

"Published less than twelve months after the end of the 2020/21 season, the Money League is the most contemporary and reliable independent analysis of the featured clubs’ relative financial performance."

In total, the German giants earned €611.4m in total revenue, and €345.2m of that came from commercial income.

Bayern have various lucrative sponsorship deals which add to their commercial revenue including Allianz, Adidas and Audi.

In 2015, they extended their sponsorship contract with kit manufacturer Adidas until 2030 in a deal worth an astonishing €900m.

They currently earn around €60m from Audi, while financial services company Allianz owns a sizeable portion of the club itself.

They are not the club that relies most heavily on commercial income, however, as 52% of their revenue is commercial, while Paris Saint-Germain is 61%.

The club who have the second-highest commercial income is indeed PSG on €337.4m, while Real Madrid are in third (€321.6m), Manchester City in fourth (€308.2m) and Barcelona in fifth (€276.6m.

Man City have the highest overall revenue at €644.9m.
